The Metro Women's Business Center will host a capital access event to support the growth of women entrepreneurs.
San Juan, Puerto Rico - The Metro Women's Business Center, a center for women managed by the non-profit organization Friends of Puerto Rico, announces "Mujer Capital," the first event focused on businesswomen seeking capital to grow their businesses. It will occur at TRYP by Wyndham Isla Verde next Thursday, September 21, at 9:00 a.m. Registration at: puertoricowomen.org/events
"This event seeks to ensure that businesswomen in Puerto Rico have equity in access to capital provided for the growth of their businesses. The business's success goes hand in hand with capital," said Angelique Sina, President of Friends of Puerto Rico.
An opportunity for entrepreneurs
The event is part of the efforts of the Metro Women's Business Center and banking entities to support the economic development of Puerto Rico.
Leading banking entities will be present, such as Oriental Bank, First Bank, Economic Development Bank (BDE), COFFEC, Pathstone, Inclusiv, and Causa Local, as a representative of non-traditional capital.
The event will be held in collaboration with the Small Business Administration (SBA) and the Department of Economic Development and Commerce (DDEC). The offer includes panels from local entrepreneurs, a discussion of economic incentives under Law 60, and entrepreneurs who attend the event will have access to one-on-one meetings with capital providers. The event is aimed at businesswomen seeking financing for their ventures who are already in operation or have a business plan.
Access to the event is free and requires registration of interest through puertoricowomen.org. Due to the capacity limit of the space, attendance will be confirmed for entrepreneurs who already have a business plan. If they do not have it, entrepreneurs can schedule an appointment to receive advice from the Metro Women's Business Center team.
The event will occur on September 21 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the TRYP by Wyndham Isla Verde, Vista del Mar Room. Attendees who remain until the end of the event will also be eligible to participate in a raffle for a trip, courtesy of sponsor Southwest Airlines.
