Cultivating Change - Friends of Puerto Rico 2023 Interactive Impact Report

Friends of Puerto Rico hosted its 2023 impact report event, "Cultivating Change," on November 16th, a virtual gathering live-streamed across the organization's social media channels. The presentation showcased the organization's remarkable accomplishments in empowering the island's communities. The impact report highlighted significant achievements in supporting entrepreneurs, fostering economic growth, and investing in the future of Puerto Rico's youth.

Key Moments of "Cultivating Change"

  • Juan García, Board Member of Friends of Puerto Rico, shared his personal connection to Friends of Puerto Rico and highlighted the organization's commitment to supporting the island's communities. He introduced Angelique Sina, as a visionary leader who has made a significant impact on the lives of countless individuals.

  • Angelique Sina, President and Founder, emphasized the transformative role of Friends of Puerto Rico's inclusive business centers, which have provided crucial support to over 3,000 individuals, empowering them to start, grow, and sustain their businesses. She underscored the centers' commitment to fostering economic development and creating opportunities for all.

  • Brenda Rodríguez, our Program Coordinator, showcased Friends of Puerto Rico's dedication to youth empowerment through its various programs. She highlighted the SEEDS program, which has positively impacted over 250 children in Puerto Rico, and introduced the Escalera program, a new initiative aimed at supporting older youth in partnership with UnidosUS.

  • Loreana González Lazzarini, Chairwoman of the Metro Women's Business Center, presented compelling data demonstrating the success of the MWBC. She noted that over 500 women have received training and counseling, with more than 300 counseling hours provided and 5 capital infusions. She also introduced two key members of the team, Alondra Bustamante and Laura Santamaría, who have played instrumental roles in the center's achievements.

She then invited the community to join the organization's end-of-year campaign, "Her Dream, Our Mission," which aims to raise $75,000 to continue providing essential support to young girls and women entrepreneurs.
